Wastewater and
Water System Improvements
Vienna, Maryland
Design and construction cost estimates were prepared for recommended improvements to existing sewer and water facilities in the Town of Vienna, for extension of utility services to the unincorporated community of West Vienna, and for a new 150,000 GPD Biolac extended aeration wastewater treatment plant. Plant design included in-ground plant with integral concrete clarifier, sludge digester, sludge drying and disposal facilities, site piping, upgrade of the Town’s pumping stations, as well as design of a new effluent pump station.
Utility extension involved construction of approximately 12,000 LF of gravity sewer main, including two submersible type pumping stations to convey sewage to the Town’s new wastewater treatment plant, and installation of approximately 19,000 LF of 6-inch, 8-inch and 10-inch water mains looped throughout the service area.
Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc., also assisted the Town in obtaining funding from the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) and CDBG for this project. |
