Parker
Pond Bridge
Salisbury, Maryland
Parker Pond Bridge is a single-span glued laminated timber structure.
The longitudinal deck is supported at the abutments by a reinforced
concrete pile cap, timber piles and steel sheet piling. A 70-foot long
steel sheetpile spillway is also incorporated into the structure. A
hydraulic and hydrogeologic study of the 9 square mile watershed, a
requirement of the Water Resources Administration, was performed in
order to size the spillway. |
