Goldsboro Community Health Center
Goldsboro, Maryland

9,700 SF Community Health Center in rural Caroline County, Maryland owned by Choptank Community Health System, Inc., a regional healthcare provider focusing on a rural, economically disadvantaged sector of the population.

The forms, materials & colors comprising the building’s exterior were chosen to respect the local agriculture themed architecture, i.e. exposed concrete block, corrugated metal siding, vertical board and batten siding exposed structural connections. Many of the customers lack access to their own means of transportation and must wait for transport. One of the owners’ requests was to provide a welcoming “front porch” where riders could wait out of the weather.

Milford Street Professional Center
Salisbury, Maryland

A business/professional complex constructed in six phases, the six single-story buildings house a variety of medical offices and laboratories supporting Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Each building is clad in brick and wood siding, in order to give the complex a residential character. Architectural and structural engineering services were provided.

Sussex Professional Center
Milford, Delaware

This complex of medical offices consists of three separate buildings, each approximately 8,000 square feet. The buildings were designed to take full advantage of a limited site located on a major highway. Design included expansion of an existing office along an angled property line creating three additional offices. Building design for the two new buildings followed a more conventional layout, with the buildings connected by a unique cedar trellis. Building materials included brick, cedar siding, and architectural shingles to provide the complex with an upscale residential appearance which blends well with the surrounding neighborhood. Architectural and structural engineering services were performed by Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc.

Independent Living and Assisted Living Facility/Activities Center
Harbor Pointe
Salisbury, Maryland

Complete architectural and engineering services were provided for this 10.64-acre site containing 57 independent living units and a 36-bed assisted living unit, which also serves as a community activities center. The architectural design was accomplished for three separate building types (single, duplex and quadplex), two separate unit types of independent living units, and a 25,000 SF assisted living facility/activities center. Serving as the central focal point for the site, the one-story assisted living facility/activity center was designed to achieve compatibility with the independent residential units by integrating common exterior materials under a pitched roof.
