Wastewater
Treatment Plant and New Spray Irrigation System

This project included
preparation of a wastewater facilities plan, hydrogeologic investigation
and final design of tertiary wastewater treatment facility improvements
and wastewater irrigation facilities for forest and crop lands. The
facilities plan included the study of alternatives, cost analysis,
review of environmental impacts, growth projections and associated user
fees. Also included was presentation of the project to the public and
obtaining necessary State and Federal funding. The treatment portion
includes upgrading of the existing trickling filter plant, expansion of
facilities, filtration and disinfection. Transmission facilities to the
irrigation locating include
nine miles of 10-inch force main. Irrigation facilities involve solid
set irrigation pipe, force mains and headers. Storage at the site is
provided by lined earthen lagoons with a capacity of 36 million gallons.
Additional facilities include an administration building and pumping
stations.
